Actually he said of the suspect photos he’s been given to look at Kane was the closest. It would be nice to get his opinion on Ross.

Yep. If Kane was the closest he must have looked like the composite. :)

Also, regarding Fouke, he was very sure about the detail of Zodiac’s hairline, he went into great detail, and said Zodiac had a specific widow’s peak hairline. The sketch is based on both Fouke’s, and the Kid’s description of Zodiac. They changed and adjusted it until it looked right in their minds, and for better or worse, it looks exactly like Ross. People have argued, it wasn’t fat enough, very well then, make it fatter, and it would still look like a fatter version of Ross. There simply is no way around it, for better or worse, that sketch looks identical to Ross, and anybody that would challenge that, is in denial.

Now,it’s important to point out that while the sketch and hairline on the sketch both look like Ross, Fouke’s accounting of height and age is off from Ross. Still, if Sherwood was right, how many guys that once spent time in the RCC library, looked exactly like the sketch? My guess is, not many.

Arguing about whether Ross Sullivan looked like the composite sketch is pointless. He looks exactly like the drawing. 1000%.
No argument from me that he’s a supreme suspect in the CJB killing.
However, those circumstances do not put him lumbering along on Cherry Street. IMHO

Or just closer to it than other guys like a bald Art Allen.

The problem with the sketch is that making too much out of a resemblance is…sketchy.

The teens themselves clearly thought Mr X looked like the sketch – to the extent that they had some sort of reaction to seeing his picture.

And I don’t say that to promote Mr X, but rather to put the sketch into perspective. The sketch is clearly generic enough to make several people decent matches for Z – and that in itself says a great deal. They can’t all be Z.

Talked with Ross’s Friend, Allan again today. Nothing major discovered, but he did go into detail about Ross and his poetry, he described Ross’s Voice again, being monotone, etc.
He googled some stuff about Ross & Zodiac, and found us here, and the thread about Ross. He read the letter from Joann Bailey. He will be attempting to contact other people that knew Ross from High school in an attempt to get writing. He’s still looking for his movie film starring Ross

He read (from memory)a short poem Ross had written. He asked me not to share it at this time and I agreed. It was nothing like the desktop poem.

He also said Ross loathed himself, reiterated Ross hated his Dad, and also talked about Ross’s ability to befriend women, although he could never have relationships with women. This reminded me of what Ms Bailey the librarian had stated.

He said Ross did not Drive at all, at least not back in 1959-62.
He remembered Ross’s Brother Tim well, but didn’t know his Brother Jon.

We may have made a valuable ally as far as the Z case goes, since this has interested Allan so much, he is interested indoing some sort of Documentary about z and/or Ross.

He also said he’s still in contact with people from the Drama dept of their school, which Ross was active in

We may have hit the motherload here. I wonder if Ross had ever been drafted though? Being drafted between 1960-1963 was not that uncommon. As you wrote, Allan himself had been drafted in 1963.

This is great news that you are in touch with Allen! I don’t know how up to date he is on the case, here are a few things I would recommend.

The 2007 Movie (even though it is skewed towards ALA)

The Letters:

Mike Butterfield wrote an excellent case summary:

Also a great Riverside analysis (you doubters should also read this)
http://zodiackillerfacts.com/main/river … mysteries/

And the yellow book. (but not Unmasked)

Dang! He remembered a poem Ross wrote some 50 odd years ago? Must have made one heck of an impact!

It was a short poem, only a few lines.

I think I misspoke /miswrote, Allan left school early to join the military, meaning he did not actually graduate with his class as he was gone by graduation. Maybe he signed up before he got drafted, so he could choose where he went or what branch he was in? I am not quite sure.
